A reading of “The Parisian Woman” by Beau Willimon will be held on Saturday, July 19, at a private residence in Playa del Rey.
Directed by Peter J. Kuo, the play will be read by Francois Chau, Julia Cho, Amy Hill, Tamlyn Tomita and Trieu Tran.
This event, which includes a champagne brunch at 11 a.m. followed by the reading at 12 p.m., supports Artists at Play’s upcoming production of “99 Histories” by Julia Cho, directed by Leslie Ishii.
“The Parisian Woman” is set in the Capitol Hill section of Washington, D.C., where powerful friends are the only kind worth having. This provocative comedy about bad conduct in high places puts lust in bed with ambition. At the center is Chloe, an über-operator armed with charm, wit and sensuality. She uses all the arrows in her quiver to help her husband nab an important government post. How far will this unorthodox couple go to climb up the political ladder?
