A police chase in the Phoenix area took a strange turn Wednesday when a suspect on the run decided he needed some food and stopped at an In-N-Out drive-thru.
The suspect, identified as Josh Adkins, had outstanding warrants out for his arrest and failed to pull over when stopped by the cops, police told local NBC News affiliate 12 News.
Adkins was able to shortly evade police and casually ordered some food at the kiosk before driving up to the to-go window. The food must have taken a little too long, because it appears Adkins took off before the restaurant could deliver his meal. Police could not be seen while the Adkins was at the In-N-Out parking lot.
Adkins continued driving for several minutes before he finally ditched his truck and proceeded to run into a backyard, where he eventually surrendered to police.
According to 12 News, Adkins was arrested and booked for his outstanding warrant as well as unlawful flight from law enforcement.
