Ten patrol cars and a police helicopter descended upon Little Tokyo in the early afternoon on Thursday in response to a report that a man was brandishing a gun near the intersection of Second and San Pedro streets. During a tense showdown, the suspect initially refused to drop his weapon but eventually surrendered. Although the gun was not loaded, bullets were reportedly found in his backpack.
