ANAHEIM —?The Orange Coast Optimists presents “Dancing for Miracles 2,” a benefit dance with proceeds going to Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M), on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Orange County Buddhist Church, 909 S. Dale Ave. in Anaheim.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the band Kokoro playing soulful R&B, soft pop, rock and oldies tunes to dance to from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Line dance lessons start at 7:20 pm.
The ever-popular Asian American band features Lauren Kinkade-Wong, Steven Santiago and Jennifer Lindy. Steven Santiago returns for his one of his farewell performances for this A3M event.
DJ music will be provided by Willie Nagami.
Other special events for the evening include Alan Miyatake’s photo booth, an opportunity drawing, and OCO’s famous late-night “ochazuke” bar with their selection of homemade tsukemono.
Special guest George Yamazawa, an A3M bone marrow recipient from North Carolina, will share the stage with his donor, Kokoro band member Wayne Horino, to talk about their experience.
Organizers promise an exciting and fun-filled evening of dancing and socializing. Meet up with old friends, make new ones and dance the night away.
OCBC’s shoe policy: No high heels. Dance shoes or soft-soled shoes only are allowed on the wood gym floor.
Ticket and table reservations are still available via pre-registration. Individual tickets are $60. Sponsorship opportunities include:
Platinum ($1,000) includes drink tickets, pupus and admission to the “ochazuke” bar for table of 10;
Gold ($700) includes pupus and admission to the “ochazuke” bar for table of 10;
Dance Miracle ($300) admits two, with drink tickets, pupus and “ochazuke” bar.
