The sling sex videosSupreme Court has declined to hear the appeal for a conviction that was the center of the Netflix series Making a Murderer, the Washington Post reports.
As covered on the docu-series, 17-year-old Brendan Dassey was found guilty of sexual assault and first-degree murder after he allegedly assisted his uncle, Steven Avery, in the rape and murder of Teresa Halbach.

Though no physical evidence linked him to the crimes, Dassey admitted to police in 2005 that he helped. In 2016, the conviction was overturned after a judge determined that Dassey's confession was coerced by police.
As BuzzFeed reported in 2017, initially, a panel of three judges sustained the appeal. However, as BuzzFeed wrote, a "larger appeals panel ruled 4–3 that police had acted properly during Dassey's confession, and his words could be used against him in court."
The now 28-year-old's attorneys attempted to bring the case to the Supreme Court, but the court rejected to hear the plea on Monday.
Reactions to the news on Twitter were a mixed bag, but many folks were surprised at the Supreme Court's decision.
