East West Players presents the Los Angeles premiere of “Animals Out of Paper” by Rajiv Joseph,xemphim18 trungquoc directed by Jennifer Chang, from Sept. 4 to Oct. 5.

When a world-renowned origami artist opens her studio to a teenage prodigy and his school teacher, she discovers that life and love can’t be arranged neatly in this drama about finding the perfect design. A quirky and melancholy play by the author of “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo,” which has been hailed as “pitch-perfect” by The New York Times.

Featuring C.S. Lee, who played Vince Masuka on “Dexter” and Harry Tang on “Chuck”’; Tess Lina, whose TV credits include “Revenge” and “CSI: Miami”; and Kapil Talwalkar, who appears in the upcoming films “Love Pyar Whatever” and “Prep School.”

Preview performances are Thursday, Sept. 4; Friday, Sept. 5; and Saturday, Sept, 6 (all at 8 p.m.), and Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m.

A ticket to opening night on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 8 p.m. includes a 7 p.m. pre-performance cocktail reception and a post-show reception with the cast and creative team. (Call for ticket prices and availability.)

Pay-what-you-can performance on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m.

A chat with the performers and creative team immediately follows the show on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m.

A complimentary glass of red or white wine will be served before the Friday shows during the regular performance run. Interested parties must be 21 years of age or older to drink.

Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. Balcony $28/Orchestra $33

Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Balcony $33/Orchestra $38

Sundays at 2 p.m. Balcony $33/Orchestra $38

Handling fee of $4 on all regular ticket purchases.
