Google unveiled the new version of its wireless Pixel Buds on phu sexTuesday at an event in New York City.
The small and light earbuds seem to fit flush with the ear, an unobtrusive design that maximizes sound quality yet still allows in some ambient noise. A new "adaptive sound" feature also dynamically adjusts the volume based on the noise of your surroundings.
They're also designed to work across long distances. Standing outside, using Bluetooth, Google says the earbuds can connect with a phone 100 yards away. This would let you do things like work out at the gym with your Pixel Buds connected to the phone in your locker.
While the new buds hold five hours of listening time on a single charge, a fully loaded (and also newly designed) charging case brings that listening time up to 24 hours.
Gone is the neckband which made the previous version of the earbuds, released way back in 2017, not trulywireless. But the new version retains a lot of what made the previous version great, like integration with Google Translate and Google Assistant. The design of the new earbuds — and its case — is also much sleeker than the previous iteration.
